RE: Where's the propane hookup?

Try getting on your hands and knees and looking under the running board below the sticker. Just a guess, mine's on the right side under the RB below the rear door.

RE: Where to fasten CB radio in a B?

My old 'Dinosaur' Coachmen has a CB mounted in the ceiling, tilted to face the driver and just in front of the rear view mirror. It's small enough that it's not in the view of the mirror. The antenna is a whip type that is mounted on the right outside mirror. I find that it's very handy re weather, accident and other tieups and of course... smokey reports.

RE: DIY Rear slide out on a B

How 'bout this... remember the old 'Apache' pop up camper trailers? They had solid sided extensions on the ends where the bedrooms were. The new pop ups have canvass or vinyl on these bedroom walls. Maybe something that would fold up like an 'Apache' would do the trick for you.

Marly, well said... 8-)
Here's one from Steve Martin. "The Maharajah Mahesh Yogi once told me to always use a litter bag in the car. It doesn't take up much room and when it gets full you can just toss it out the window."

RE: What lawn chair fits you and your Class B?

I have 2 aluminum lawn chairs with custom woven seats and backs. I store them in the bathtub when on the road.

RE: replacing 3 way fridge with 110v only

I just replaced my rv fridge in my 1990 dinosaur with a GE 110v 'bar' fridge from Walmart ($134). It fit in the old space just right. I never stay in places without electricity, and on the road I placed a bag of ice in the bottom 'crisper' drawer and it stayed around 35 - 40 all day on the way home from Florida in April. On the way to hocking hills I found it was well enough insulated that I didn't need the ice. A new rv unit here was $1200 3W IF I could find one that would fit without major woodwork. I'm very happy with it.
A tech told me to remove the fridge and turn it upside down for a day or 2 then upright it and test it to see if it would run. I guess it separates the ammonia from any water or bubbles the system develops over time.

RE: Registration Now Open - B5 Rally May 16, 2008

Cincinatti zoo is just across the river from Covington KY where the vent museum is located. Paramount Kings Island on 71 North of Cinci, lots of very interesting caves on I-65 just north of Bowling Green KY. eg. Cave City, Horse Cave, Mamouth Cave National Park. All worth a visit.
Are you a vent? If so will you bring your little partner? I haven't done any in 30 years. 'Tiny' might be a bit rusty... I know I am.

RE: Ice Cube Bags - Perfect for B's?

I bought something at Amazon called Icy Cools. There's 45 of them in the package. They're like little pillows made of clear plastic and filled with water. They stay cold for a long time and don't dilute the beverage, and they won't spill like water in a tray, and they're reuseable over and over. Another big plus for me is that they're made in Roosevelt, New Jersey in the good old U.S.A. Here's the addy www.icycools.com

RE: 33 days in a B! Leaving in a couple weeks

Here's a little advice/heads up..... In a type B you MUST really like each other. You are always within shouting distance, and frequently within striking distance. 8-)
Great looking unit... some would say a dinosaur... looks a lot like my old Coachmen, if mine were cleaned up.

RE: Enclosed bath and extra front seats - which B?

The Great West Van Side Sofa Model has 5 belted seats up front, An easily convertable sofa bed, a second queen sized bed up top, a real enclosed bathroom at the rear, standup head room. All on a Ford or Dodge chassis (used) and less than 20 feet. Check out their site for the SSM or SDM floorplans at

RE: Rut Ro....Kid is 6'4"... forgot this detail in my B searches

Susan... I believe Great West Van makes a hightop with 6'4 interior height. It's on a Ford chassis. They've been made for a number of years so you might find a used one. It's not on their website anymore but it's in their print ads. If you find the side sofa model, or the side dinette model, it has the enclosed bath at the rear, and a second bed in the top over the cab.
Hope it helps..

That's the same layout as my "dinasaur" 1990 Coachmen.
